La parrocchia di Racine nel Wisconsin esiste da più di 50 anni ma la chiesa ha solo 4 anni. Racine, Wisconsin, USA: the local parish church is St. Lucy's and is more than 50 years old; however, the church is only 4 years old.
Nella chiesa è collocato questo bel quadro commissionato da Robert Paliani. Il quadro rappresenta la giovane Lucia ritta su una rupe che ricorda la leggenda della sua immobilità prima del martirio. Lucia è circondata dalle fiamme perchè nel martirio cercarono di bruciarla. Tiene in mano un piatto con i suoi occhi che furono però conservati da Dio. La fune è quella che la lego durante il martirio. La sua gola è ferita per simboleggiare come fu portata al martirio. Il ramo di palme simbolizza il martirio. La lampada che regge da il significato del suo nome infatti S.Lucia è patrona dei ciechi e della vista. Mr.Robert Paliani recently commissioned an artist to do an oil painting of Santa Lucia. The painting is 3 feet by 5 feet in size. This painting typifies a young Saint Lucy. She stands on a rock, which symbolizes the legend of her immovability. She is surrounded by flames, symbolizing the attempt to burn her to death. She holds a dish with her eyes that were put out, yet she has eyes that were restored by God. The rope represents the rope that she was bound with when the Romans tried to arrest and take her away. There is a wound on her throat, symbolizing how she was put to death. The palm leaves symbolize the martyrdom she has earned. The lamp she holds represents Saint Lucy. It is the meaning of her name. She is the patron saint of the blind and those with eye-trouble.

L'artista ha usato una statua come modello per il quadro. Questa statua cadde dal suo piedistallo misteriosamente rovinandosi in corrispondenza della testa e del braccio: particolare curioso è che gli occhi fuoriuscirono dalla testa dopo la caduta. The artist used a statue of St. Lucy as a model for the painting. The statue mysteriously fell from it's pedestal in our church and sustained damage to the head and arm. What is particularly strange is that when the statue smashed, the eyes broke from the rest of the statue's head.
